passphrase
This is the secret phrase used to encode your file. Like a password but it can be more than one word, and is more secure if it is. Anyone who wishes to decrypt the file will need to know this phrase and type it in exactly as you did when you encrypted the file. Passphrases can be as long as you like and can use any characters. Generally speaking, the longer they are and the more unusual (e.g. using non-English words) the stronger the encryption.
algorithm
Cryptosaurus encrypts using 3DES (Triple Data Encryption Standard). This is a cryptographically sound algorithm which uses a secret key (your passphrase) to encode all the data in a file.
Cryptosaurus personal encryption
Cryptosaurus is a simple tool for encrypting and decrypting files. This enables you to convert your files into a form that cannot be read by anyone without your password. You can transmit the encrypted files over non-secure channels such as email, without worrying if they are intercepted and read on the way.
